It’s been one week since my emergency surgery for a broken leg after missing a lateral box jump. This has been the most painful and humbling week of my life. At this point, we are celebrating all the wins from putting on my own clothes to taking my first shower. Things we take for granted in our everyday life that in an instant become precious. It’s been a week full of tears (have yet to go a day where I don’t cry), learning how to navigate around the house with a walker, pain management, nausea, restlessness but also…love, family and friends coming through in my darkest hour, tons of puppy snuggles, time for myself, and motivation to not just get better but to get stronger.
